Counselling for anger problems is a comprehensive goal orientated process where anger management and learning coping skills and strategies to manage aggression before it becomes destructive and the individual loses control over their emotions. Anger is a secondary emotion that is used to mask pain or sadness, Anger can over-run an inidividuals life in all aspects, and can be triggered by the smallest action, suggestion, remark or event  and more. It may stem from trauma, it may be from external or external interpretations of oneslf or the world, or it may even be hormonal. But anger can destroy all aspeccts of your life if not treated and monitored with an aftercare plan put into place for once counselling has ended. It can cause communication difficulties in all types of relationships, conflict and in some cases even violence. Ms. Pretorius devises a anger management and counselling program througha combination of counselling techniques and makes use of an aftercare and self care approach to the management of anger issues once the root cause of the anger has been adressed and dealt with in counselling. Communication skills, coping techniques and styles, conflict resolution strategies etc. are all developed above and beyond the temediation of the root cause of the primary emotion, hurt or pain. Recognizing and understanding triggers and causes of anger can prevent the build-up or potential explosion  by engaging in emotion regulation strategies and techniques developed through counselling for anger.
