LEARNING DISORDERS/ LEARNING BARRIERS ASSESSMENT AND REPORTS

Every child has the right to an education that caters to his or her specific needs. Often, a child is found to be experiencing great difficulty in learning. This may be indicative that there is a Learning Disorder or Barrier to Learning present.

Learning disorders are used as a hyponym for a wide variety of disorders and barriers to learning that may affect the process of understanding, remembering, and how a person responds to new information and stimuli. It is important to understand that a person's intellectual ability does not categorise learning disorders. Individuals experience learning disorders, frequently present with one or more areas of struggle.

A wide range of assessments are used to determine the existence of a learning disorder, a learning disability, learning difficulty and non-verbal learning disorders, and then the appropriate interventions, intervention plans, and individual support plans are designed. A scholastic assessment test creates the opportunity for the learners to be supported scholastically and provides him/her with the platform they need to succeed academically and scholastically. It also opens up the possibility of an appropriate referral in case of a serious neuro-developmental disorder or such a disorder that requires the attention of a specialised medical practitioner.
